The New Tipene

Inspiring Māori boys towards academic success is the cornerstone of our model.

To achieve this, we will utilise a boarding environment to provide comprehensive and individualised education.  The needs and aspirations of every boy will be identified and a programme developed which best accelerates their growth and development.

Building on the history and reputation of TIPENE, our model further utilizes high-performance sport as a driver of success and which is likewise underpinned by tikanga Māori.

“It is well-known that the educational outcomes for Māori are poor at best. Underachievement is the norm for many of our tamariki and especially Māori boys. We need to act urgently in order to address these issues and to develop new and bespoke methods for uplifting and inspiring our boys. Our model is designed to meet this challenge, to create a positive option for whanau, and to build a new generation of Māori leaders.
